Command Sgt. Maj. Daniel T. Hendrex

FORT HOOD, Texas — III Corps and Fort Hood leadership will welcome a new command sergeant major during a assumption of responsibility ceremony 10 a.m. Jan. 11 on Sadowski Field here.

Command Sgt. Maj. Michael A. Crosby relinquished his responsibilities as III Corps command sergeant major in October 2018 to become the U.S. Army Futures Command command sergeant major in Austin, Texas.

Hendrex entered the Army in 1990 and completed One Station Unit Training at Fort Knox, Kentucky. Hendrex has served in numerous leadership positions including as the command sergeant major at the battalion, brigade and division level.

In addition to his recent tour in support of Operation Freedom’s Sentinel, he deployed throughout his career to Operations Enduring Freedom, Iraqi Freedom, Noble Eagle, Intrinsic Action, Joint Forge, Joint Guardian, Restore Hope, Desert Storm and Desert Shield.

Hendrex comes to Fort Hood after serving as senior enlisted leader for the 3rd Infantry Division at Fort Stewart, Georgia.
