FORT HOOD, Texas — Fort Hood will welcome a new garrison command sergeant major at 9 a.m. Feb. 23 in the West Atrium of the III Corps headquarters during a change of responsibility ceremony here.

Command Sgt. Maj. Byron C. Larsen, incoming garrison command sergeant major, will take responsibility from Command Sgt. Maj. Antonio Leija, outgoing garrison command sergeant major, who will travel to his new assignment as an operations noncommissioned officer in the G-3/5/7 (operations, plans, and training) office at Headquarters Installation Management Command, San Antonio, Texas.

Larsen, a 27-year field artilleryman, comes to Fort Hood from his previous assignment as division command sergeant major, 10th Mountain Division (Light Infantry) Fort Drum, New York.
