FORT HOOD, Texas — The III Corps commanding general will host a town hall at 6 p.m. Feb. 21 in Howze Auditorium as part of an ongoing Armywide effort to inform residents of current policies for resolving issues and to personally connect with Soldiers, Army families and other residents to ensure obligations are being met to provide them safe and quality housing.

The town hall will be hosted by Lt. Gen. Paul E. Funk II, III Corps CG; Col. Hank Perry, Fort Hood Garrison commander; and senior representatives from Lendlease Inc., the contractor responsible for providing housing as part of the Residential Communities Initiative. These leaders want to ensure residents understand their rights as tenants in privatized housing as well as in the barracks, how to report a concern and receive prompt action, and how to file any complaint they feel is unresolved.

The Housing Town Hall will be followed by three smaller internal community engagements allowing residents to bring forth housing issues they wish to discuss with Fort Hood leadership reference the work order process for repairing quarters.

The community engagements are on different days and only involve certain housing areas:

10 a.m. Feb. 22 — Venable, Pershing, Montague, Liberty and Kouma Community Engagement at Howze Auditorium, Bldg. 33000, Battalion Ave.

11 a.m Feb. 25 — Patton, Wainwright, McNair, and Chaffee Community Engagement at Howze Auditorium

6 p.m. Feb. 26 — Comanche I, II, and III Community Engagement at Howze Auditorium

All events will be live streamed on the Fort Hood Facebook page at facebook.com/forthood.

Media are invited to attend the Feb. 21 Town Hall. They will be able to capture the event and attend a follow-up press conference with the Fort Hood Garrison Commander Hank Perry after the town hall.
