154th CTC Uncases Colors at Fort Hood
The 154th Composite Transportation Company officially marked its return from a nine-month deployment to Kuwait by uncasing its colors during a ceremony at Fort Hood, TX, December 18.
“It is my distinct honor to welcome you home,” said Lt. Col. Justin M. Redfern, commander, 553d Combat Sustainment Support Battalion (CSSB), 1st Cavalry Division Sustainment Brigade. “Months have gone by, and as I’ve grown to expect from any Gunslinger company, your accomplishments have far exceeded almost every measure.”
During their deployment, the 154th CTC executed more than 525 missions and traveled a total of 600-thousand miles to provide support and transportation to units moving throughout the U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) area of operation as well as the distribution of supplies.
“To say 1st Sgt. Hill and I are proud of this team is a vast understatement,” said Capt. Nathaniel McDermott, commander, 154th CTC, 553d CSSB, 1st Cav. Div. Sust. Bde. “You have accomplished the mission safely and effectively; you have represented yourselves, our profession and America’s First Team exceptionally well – 1st Sgt. and I sincerely thank you.”
