FORT HOOD, Texas – The III Corps commanding general will host Texas community partners from three areas of expertise at a Texas Partners Day Aug. 4.

Lt. Gen. Paul E. Funk II will bring community experts in education, industry and medical sectors on the installation to show them how Fort Hood takes care of Soldiers and their Family members and to highlight the pool of talent available through Soldiers, who leave the service and desire to stay and work here.

The purpose of the event is lay the framework for additional community partnerships that will benefit Soldiers and communities in Texas.

In the morning, the education partners will visit the post education center. The industry partners will visit the various Soldier for Life – Transition Assistance Programs. The medical partners will visit with Soldiers and leaders at the Carl R. Darnall Medical Center.

In the afternoon, all guests will visit virtual training facilities on post that hone Soldier skills in combat and medical fields.

Media who wish to cover this event will have two gate times and should register here. The first gate time is at 9 a.m. Aug. 4 for broll opportunities at the General Motors Shifting Gears facility. The second gate time is at 1:15 p.m. Aug. 4 for interviews and broll at the simulators.
