FORT HOOD, Texas – III Corps and Fort Hood Commanding General, Lt. Gen. Pat White will hold a press conference at 1:45 p.m. Dec. 8 on the results of the Fort Hood Independent Review Committee’s report and provide an update on the People First initiative to build trust and cohesive teams.

Secretary of the Army Ryan McCarthy and the Chief of Staff of the Army Gen. James McConville appointed the Fort Hood Independent Review Committee, comprised of five highly qualified experts, to examine the command climate and culture at Fort Hood and the surrounding military community after questions and concerns were voiced by family members, Congress, and various Hispanic advocacy groups during the investigation into the disappearance and murder of Spc. Vanessa Guillen. The committee visited Fort Hood from Aug. 30 to Sept. 15 and the results will be officially released tomorrow.

Accredited media desiring to attend the Dec. 8 press conference must register here no later than 4 p.m. Dec. 7. On Dec. 8 a public affairs representative will meet the media at the south parking lot of Marvin Leath Visitors Center located on T.J. Mills Blvd. at 11:30 p.m. for an escort to the 1:45 p.m. event.
