FORT HOOD, Texas –Ahead of Veterans Day, leaders from IBM, Fort Hood Soldier for Life – Transition Assistance Program (SFL-TAP), Central Texas College, St. Michael’s Learning Academy and Corporate America Supports You (CASY), a nonprofit that specializes in job placement for veterans, will join forces at 3 p.m. Oct. 30 to announce the Texas expansion of the New Collar Tech Career Training Opportunities for Texas Veterans initiative at the Central Texas College Annex here.

This public-private collaboration is part of a nationwide training initiative that certifies veterans in the use of IBM software widely used by law enforcement, cybersecurity, and national security agencies. IBM executives recently committed to hiring 2,000 veterans in the United States over the next four years, several organizations are joining together to help lead the effort.
