City of Killeen community engagement coordinator to speak at MLK observance event

FORT HOOD, Texas – III Corps and Fort Hood will observe Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s birthday during an event hosted by the 36th Engineer Brigade and the III Corps Equal Opportunity office at 1:30 p.m. Jan. 20 in the Phantom Warrior Center.

The event will honor Dr. King's lasting contributions to the civil rights movement and his dedication to inspiring hundreds of thousands of Americans to embrace racial equality in America.

The guest speaker will be TaNeika N. Driver-Moultrie, community engagement coordinator for the city of Killeen and president of the Killeen branch of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People.

Driver-Moultrie is a prominent member of the community and dedicates much of her time to organizing and supporting local non-profit organizations in the Greater Central Texas Area. In addition, she mentors young teens, volunteers for HEB Feast of Sharing, and sits on the board of the Back 2 School Rally & Symposium to help raise scholarship funds for local students in need.
