Command Team, rest of 4th Brigade Combat Team 'Long Knife' set to return

FORT HOOD, Texas -- The 1st Cavalry Division will host the final redeployment and 'uncasing of the colors' ceremony for the 4th Brigade Combat Team at Cooper Field here at approximately 10:35 p.m., Thursday, Aug 1.

At the redeployment ceremony, Col. William Benson, commander, 4th BCT, and Command Sgt. Maj. Christopher Menton, command sergeant major, 4th BCT, will uncase their brigade colors.  

Lt. Col Elward Cortez, commander, 27th Brigade Support Battalion, 4th BCT, and Command Sgt. Major William Venus, command sergeant major, 27th BSB, 4th BCT, will uncase their battalion's colors.

Lt. Col Robert Kuth, commander, 2nd Battalion, 7th Cavalry Regiment, 4th BCT, and Command Sgt. Major Eliodoro Perez, command sergeant major, 2-7 Cav., 4th BCT, will uncase their battalion's colors.

The uncasing of the colors symbolizes the official end of the respective unit's tours. 

More than three hundred Troops will be returning after a nine-month deployment to Afghanistan.
