FORT HOOD, Texas - Fort Hood officials lifted their boil water notice at 3:40 p.m. May 10 after receiving test results from American Water (Fort Hood’s contractor) that certified the water on Fort Hood is safe to drink.

“We are very pleased to have received lab results back this afternoon which indicate that Fort Hood’s water is safe and potable for our Soldiers, families, and other employees.  This allows us to lift the boil water notice effective immediately,” said Brian Dosa, Fort Hood Director of Public Works.

“We appreciate everyone’s patience as we worked through some challenges with our local water system over the past few days,” he said.  “Ricky Garrett and his WCID 1 (Water Conditioning and Improvement District 1) team did a great job responding to back-to-back issues, with a major water line break Saturday and an extended power outage at the Belton Water Treatment Plant on Sunday.  In each, they kept us informed while working long hours to resolve these issues. The community’s ability to weather the challenges over the past few days reflect the teamwork and communication that we enjoy in Central Texas.”
