FORT HOOD, Texas — Fort Hood officials are hosting two community led events for Soldiers and Families Dec. 11 here.

FedEx Freight will deliver more than 500 real Christmas trees to military families at 8;30 a.m. Dec. 11 at Hood Stadium as part of the Trees for Troops program

Trees for Troops, a program of the Christmas Spirit Foundation, provides free, farm-grown Christmas Trees to members in all branches of the U.S. military and their Families, through donations, sponsorship, grants and the work of many volunteers.

Since 2005, more than 243,955 free, farm-grown Christmas trees have been provided to troops and military Families in the United States and overseas through Trees for Troops.

In their 17th annual holiday gift giving event, Celebration of Love with support from numerous Central Texas communities will provide more than 2,000 Fort Hood Soldiers and their Families with bicycles, gifts and holiday meals at 10 a.m.
