FORT HOOD, Texas — III Corps and Fort Hood will host a Phantom Honors farewell and welcome retreat ceremony at 2 p.m. June 8 at the III Corps flagpole here.

The ceremony is in honor of Maj. Gen. John Uberti, outgoing deputy commanding general for maneuver, III Corps and Fort Hood, Col. John Reynolds, outgoing III Corps and Fort Hood chief of staff, and Maj. Gen. Felix Gedney, incoming deputy commander for support, III Corps and Fort Hood.

Uberti was commissioned in the field artillery in 1983 upon graduation from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, New York. He arrived here in August 2015 and will retire in December 2017 after serving more than 34 years in the Army.

Gedney is a graduate of Durham University, Durham, England, and the Royal Military Academy, Sandhurst, England. He will assume duties as the deputy commander strategy and support, Combined Joint Task Force - Operation Inherent Resolve.

Reynolds was commissioned in the infantry in 1989 upon graduation from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, New York. He arrived here in July 2015 and will be reassigned to the Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff, G-8, Pentagon, Washington D.C.
