FORT HOOD, Texas — Since 1942, the U.S. Army has stationed troops in Central Texas. Camp Hood was established to prepare our military for anti-tank missions during World War II.

To celebrate its 75th anniversary, Fort Hood officials will host a Fort Hood 75th Anniversary Celebration with guest speaker Maj. Gen. Douglas Chalmers, III Corps deputy commanding general (Support), at 10 a.m. Sept. 18 at Club Hood.
